Introduction to FOSS and Linux

After not having an introduction to FOSS in 2006, UnPLUG came up with Introduction to FOSS and Linux (InFLUX) on another Wednesday morning on August 1, 2007 at the CS Lecture Hall at the College of Engineering Library and Computer Science Building.

The event started with a talk answering the question "What is FOSS and GNU/Linux?" immediately after the opening remarks. A video presentation followed with a talk entitled "CS through FOSS" after. The event was then wrapped up by a brief explanation of GPL 3.0 combined with an introduction to CakePHP.

Only few students attended the event. On the bright side, there were two students from another school who even came to UP to attend. Comparing InFLUX with other events of UnPLUG, it should be ranked among the less-prepared ones.
