Speakers will discuss and demonstrate how to build your own computer from parts, and get it up and running with Linux. They will also discuss the advantages of free and open source software (FOSS) on your computing life. There will also be a practical component of the class as participants will get a chance to build a PC themselves.

UP Diliman - The first UnPLUG Monthly General Meeting - Face to Face (MGM-F2F) for the year 2009 was held today at UP Alumni Engineers Centennial Building 2nd Floor, January 19. Eighteen people were present in the said meeting. Topics discussed include the appointment of new officers, the upcoming university-wide implementation of HALALAN, CS Week, participation in ACLE, and the CWS lecture series. Stuff like T-shirts, Linux and Webdev tutorials were also tackled.
The UnPLUG Community mailing list is an initiative to reach out to people interested in Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) who are non-UP Diliman students, no longer students, or just plain interested. In other words, everybody is welcome to join.
